Joshua Tarrant

I created this blog to keep track of my racing exploits. I am currently racing with a great elite team out of Michigan (Team Lathrup/Giant)formerly Ford/Giant Cycling team. This makes it easy for my family to read about my races and see pictures of me in action. Thank you very much for positive comments and for reading

Almost done in Europe

I have less than 2 weeks left in Belgium before i head back home to start schoo, work and most importantly see my girlfriend. I have a few more races here before i begin my 15hr journey back to the U.S. I also have 2 races that i plan to race when i get back, which are the michigan state road race championships and the Tour of Leelanau. I'm not sure how the legs or the jet lag will be but i plan to race then anyhow and have some fun. It has been a great experience over here in Europe racing with the worlds best and i'm sure i will be able to put my experiences to use in my future raceing adventures. Thanks for reading.

Pushing the limit

I did a race in Oostkamp on thursday and it was possibly the hardest i have ever pushed myself before. I made the winning break with another teammate and about 15 other riders. I was asked to push the pace so the break would stay clear and i did. I pushed a little too hard and ended up getting dropped out of the break with a few laps to go but my teammate was in a good position to do well. After getting dropped i didn't want to be caught by the field so i began to chase as hard as i could. I kept my hr at about 195 for over 10min to try and stay as close as possible to the break. I pushed so hard that i actually puked from my bike all over my right leg. It was pretty gross but i was hurting so bad at that point it didn't really phase me that much. I ended up getting caught by the field with a lap to go but managed to finish around 30th. My tammate in the break placed 10th in the race which was a good result for the team. Well thats all for now. I have about 4 weeks left and hope to get some decent results before i head home. Thanks for reading.
